Ogun: TRACE warns against abuse of walkways by traders

Ogun State traffic agency, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, (TRACE) has lamented display of goods and wares by traders on road sides and walkways across the state.

TRACE’s Public Relations Officer, Akinbiyi Babatunde, in a statement described the development as an unholy activity which had made mockery of government efforts at ensuring and guaranting the safety of all road users, particularly pedestrians.

Babatunde, who added that the display constituted ugly sight to intending commercial, as well as industrial visitors and tourists had also become nuisance and a harmful disposition to road users in the state.

“In view of the foregoing, traders who engage in this illegal act are enjoined to desist forthwith and remove their goods and wares from road sides, as well as walkways and use approved markets, stalls and shops constructed by government for sanity and order to prevail on state traffic corridor”.

“Violators of this order would have their products and merchandise confiscated after 48hrs of this release ( From Wednesday, 28th April, 2021 – Friday, 30th April, 2021), and the owner of same charge to court accordingly. You have been warned”, he concluded.
