The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),Ogun State Council, is  set to conduct its trennial delegate conference in Abeokuta, the state capital.On its front burner is election of new executive members to run the affairs of the union for the next three years.

The scheduled election among other businesses of the day will hold on Friday at its Oke Ilewo “Iwe Irohin House” secretariat, Abeokuta.Already, members of the council have expressed interests in various positions, among them a female   chairmanship candidate, Remi Olugbenro.Aside, Olugbenro of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria(FRCN), Paramount F.M,  others jostling for the position are Biodun Ogundipe of the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation(OGBC) and the incumbent secretary, Soji Amosun of the National Orientation Agency(NOA)Kunle Olayeni of Daily Telegraph, and Daud Olanrewaju of the Local Government Information will trade tackles for the position of the Vice-Chairman, while Ayokunle Ewuoso and Oyebade Adegoke;  both of Ministry of Information, will slug it out for the position of Secretary.Bisi Alarape of Ogun State Television(OGTV) and Taiwo Abiodun of Daily Times are contenders for the Assistant Secretary position.Anthony Gandonu, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Kazeem Lawal of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and Abiola Otunuga of Federal Information have been returned unopposed as Treasurer, Auditor and Financial Secretary respectively.
