The Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon Wale Adedayo has promised promotion of culture and tourism in the council area.
Adedayo, gave the assurances while hosting traditional worshippers and culture enthutiasts at the local government secretariat, Ogbere, to celebrate the maiden Isese Day.
The chairman, who noted that Yoruba cultural heritage should not be eroded by western education or religious beliefs, also reassured that he would continue to fulfil his his electioneering campaigns including celebration of the annual Isese Day celebration through out his tenure.
A service conducted by “Ijo Adulawo”, an extraction of traditional worshippers from the local government area preceded parade of traditional dancers of various groups, such as Egungun, Jigbo, Okoro, Epa among others.
During the ceremony, Adedayo, was quoted as disabusing the minds of many people that Satan is the same as “Esu” , adding that such affirmation was spear headed by Europeans who brought the western education into Nigeria to brainwash Africans.
While promising that his administration will deliver dividends of democracy to the council areas in general, he also promised to upgrade Ogbere, the headquarters of Ijebu East Local Government.
