I’M LEAVING OGUN BETTER THAN I MET IT – AMOSUN

After  taking up reins of government for 8 years  in Ogun State, Governor Ibikunle Amosun yesterday  handed over power  to his successor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.Amosun, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Taiwo Adeoluwa, handed over  to the Abiodun Transition Team chaired by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako – Oyedele.The governor commended  the deputy governor’s team  for their understanding and patience during interface between the two groups.”I was expecting an interim report that we can examine now. But it is as if you want to give us some homework to do and I can assure you we are up to the task.””Our pledge to the people of Ogun State is that they will continue to enjoy good governance. Our administration will review on-going projects,” she saidIt was gathered that the hand over notes comprised  Interim Report, Audited Financial statement of the state as at December 2018,  Homeowners Charter Document among others. The ceremony was  witnessed by Abiodun’s Director General during the  governorship campaign, Prince Segun Adesegun, Deputy Speaker,  Ogun State House of Assembly, Kunle Oluomo among othersEarlier,  he was pulled out of government amid emotion by supporters and admirers at  the Oke – Mosan  Governor Office.During the emotion-laden ceremony, Amosun said: “We came, we saw and to a reasonable extent we have conquered.“We are leaving Ogun state better than we met it. Some can not even stay and someone says I am running away yes, but I will be running to Mecca to say thank you to God and I will be away for like 14days because I will be coming for Sallah.“I have told God that If he could do this for me, I will come and say thank you. And I am going to thank him (God) for what I will describe as unseen fingers, uncommon glory and favour.“Chronical of history will write that I came and this is how I left it. Immediately we came we knew what we wanted to do and that certain things must be put in place such as infrastructures and we did that.“I have done my bit and I have moved on and of course I have new assignment which I will do more better than I have done in government.“I am off and once you have done your bit leave so that people can decided what is best for them. We have done our best and I am at peace with my creator”, he concluded.
