Rector of D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, Prof. Alfred Olufemi Fatade, has said that the institution is set to produce first set of graduates in its Higher National Diploma (HND) programs.
He made the disclosure yesterday during a press conference to herald the 2019 combined convocation ceremony.
Fatade, said the convocation, the second since the polytechnic was established in 2006, will produce 191 HND students in Accounting, Computer Science and Business Management.
The rector also disclosed that the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018, combined convocation will also produce a total of 976 students of the polytechnic in its Ordinary National Diplomas.
The convocation activities which will begin with Juma’at and church services on Friday and Sunday, will climax on Saturday, April 13, with conferment of fellowship awards, award of OND and HND as well as presentation of prizes to the graduating students.
The rector listed achievements of the specialised polytechnic to include accreditation of accountancy department by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN), as well as capacity building for staff and timely release of students examination scores.
Falade, lamented that the institution was facing dearth of infrastructure, laboratories, lecture rooms, office equipment, administrative block, workshops among other challenges.
