The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee in Ogun State has raised the alarm that it had uncovered plans to unleash terror in the state as well as on his governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun during the forthcoming state elections.
The Publicity Secretary of the party,Tunde Oladunjoye, made the allegations while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He also alleged that the committee was in possession of intelligence that violence will be unleashed by hoodlums in the full glare of top police officers, who would not take any action.
To prevent this, Oladunjoye urged the federal government to deploy military for the exercise in the state.
The deployment of soldiers, he noted became imperative in the face of political violence that characterised last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
A police corporal, who was accompanying elections results to Ilaro was shot dead by unknown gunmen suspected to be political thugs in Eredo town, Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.
Alhough, he noted that soldiers could not be stationed at the polling stations, Oladunjoye, added that their deployment across the state will forestall any violence that could be orchestrated by political thugs.
