Chairman, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Hon. Bukola Olopade, has described the victory of Amaju Pinnick as the President of Nigeria Football Federation, as an opportunity for the country to build her political presence at the global football stage.
Pinnick poled 43 votes to beat Malawian Walter Nyamilandu, who scored 8 of the total votes.
Olopade, a former commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State, spoke on Pinnick’s emergence as FIFA executive council member.
The sports enthusiast, promoter, marketer and administrator, Olopade, expressed confidence that Pinnick’s emergence would also rub off positively on the development of football in the country.
“We have anticipated the victory and let me specially congratulate my friend and brother Amaju Pinnick, undoubtedly, he worked his way to this level and once again, he has inked the country’s name in gold”.
“This is not just about Pinnick or the football fraternity, it’s a victory for Nigeria and hopefully, we will record more success of this nature in the next couple of years.”
He charged Pinnick to utilize his good offices for the development of both the African and the Nigerian football
