Former Ogun State governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has lamented the passage of General Adetunji Olurin (rtd)
In a statement, Daniel described Olurin as “an eminent statesman and disciplined officer who served Nigeria and our dear Ogun State with grace and candour”.
Daniel recalled Olurin’s sound support towards his move to govern the state in 2003.
“Indeed, he was one of the earliest persons consulted and he gave his support”.
“General Olurin faithfully served as the Founding Chancellor of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) during our administration.
Daniel added that Olurin’s passing had left a huge vacuum “”at a time when our nation needs more leaders of thought to help navigate the present challenges.
“I am however comforted that the late General has gone to rest having played his part on this side”.
While praying for Olurin’s soul to rest in perfect peace, Daniel also prayed for his immediate and extended families at this difficult time.
