Ogun spends N4.3bn onroads in six months

The Ogun State government has said that it had spent a total of N4.325 billion on construction and rehabilitation of roads in the state in the last six months.

Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya, made the disclosure while defending the ministry’s 2020 budget performance before members of the House of Assembly on committee on works and infrastructure yesterday.

He added that the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun would continue to open up the industrialisation and economic frontiers of the state.

Akinsanya listed the roads across the three senatorial districts to include the Panseke-Adigbe Road, the Fajol-Ajegunle/ America Junction in Alogi area of Abeokuta,, the state capital as well as the on going Ijebu-Epe Road, the Oba Erinwole, Sagamu, Molipa/Fesogboye/Ojofa Street in Ijebu-Ode among several others.

The commissioner added that the sum of N142.03m was expended on recurrent including salaries and other overhead within the period under review.
