OGUN ASSEMBLYPOSTPONES SCREENING OF NOMINEES FROM IPOKIA, SCREENS 13 OTHERS

The sudden death of a chairmanship nominee from Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Shuaib ADeosun has forced the State House of Assembly to postpone the screening of caretaker committee members from the council area.
However, the assembly screened 13 caretaker committee chairmen and their members from Ogun East and West Senatorial Districts.
It also observed a minute silent for the late chairmanship nominee who died this morning.
During the screening, the Speaker, Rt. Olakunle Oluomo, who presided over the screening, said the Assembly would strengthen its oversight function at the local government level.
This is to ensure effective performance of the nominees, if eventually confirmed and sworn in by the governor.
Tragedy struck earlier today when the chairmanship nominee, Adeosun, died a few hours to his screening by the Assembly.
Mulero, who died in the early hours of the day at his residence in Ipokia, was a former Senior Legislative Aide in the National Assembly,
The incident has thrown his supporters and the entire town into mourning.
