Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has reassured people with criminal tendencies that he would continue to make life intolerable and unbearable for them.
He spoke against the backdrop that criminals are threatening his life following the re-launch of OP-MESA ,the anti – crimes squad of his administration.
The governor had last month re-launched the state joint security outfit, code-named OP-MESA, where he declared war on kidnappers and “yahoo” boys in the state.
The governor spoke at the “Ogun, Oyo Joint Security Meeting”, bilateral session jointly organised by Ogun and Oyo State governments to finding solutions to the insecurity challenges in their states.
The governor, who did not disclose how he got the threat message from the hoodlums claimed that the hoodlums have decided to go after his life for making life unbearable for them.
“I am waiting for them. After we launched our OP-MESA last week, I understand that they have been working extremely hard, infact, what I hear is that those criminals are now saying that Dapo Abiodun is making life unbearable for them and that they are going to also come after me, well, let me assure you that I will continue to make life intolerable and unbearable for you and I’m waiting for you.”
Speaking on the rationale behind the meeting, the governor lamented that kidnappings and other crimes are rampart at the border communities of both Ogun and Oyo states, hence the need for the bilateral agreement.
He assured that the joint security efforts would promote sustained economic development in the neighboring states.
Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, in his remarks said the joint security meeting was the right thing to do and it is absolutely important we do it.
According to him, the government had defied political party differences to pursue a common goal of fighting insecurity in their respective states.
