Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has felicitated an elder statesman and politician, Chief Suarau Alani Bankole, as he clocked 80.
Abiodun, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, described Bankole, popularly known as ‘Caterpillar’, as a consummate politician and industrialist who has contributed immensely to the growth of Nigeria and Ogun State.
The governor, who noted that the father of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, is renowned for playing politics without bitterness, said he has tapped from his courageous approach to issues.
He further described him as a lover of traditions and culture, who has used his title as the Oluwo Iporo Ake, to promote and champion the development of Egbaland.
Abiodun, however, prayed God should grant the former National Chairman of the defunct All Peoples Party long life and good health, so that Ogun and Nigeria will continue to tap from his wealth experience for years to come.
